On Thursday 15 November 2018, Wesfarmers shareholders approved the demerger of Coles Group Limited from Wesfarmers, and Court approval for the scheme of arrangement to implement the demerger was received on Monday 19 November 2018.
Part of this deal was that Flybuys would separate out of the Coles Group, operate as an independent entity as Flybuys (Loyalty Pacific) and have a 50/50 ownership between the two organisations in Wesfarmers & Coles. The Flybuys board is made up of both Wesfarmers and Coles executives.
